Connecto is renovating the street lighting of Rakvere

At the end of October AS Connecto Eesti (in cooperation with the joint tenderer Arendus & Haldus OÜ) and Rakvere City Government concluded the contract for the renovation of street lighting in the City of Rakvere with the total cost of 1 987 785 euros.

The project is financed by the European Cohesion Fund within the scope of 65% and co-financed by the City of Rakvere within 35%. In the course of works more than 1 400 lighting points will be renovated in nine city districts on five streets entering the city. Approximately 15 km of new underground cable routes and 20 km of new overhead cable lines with suspension cable will be built and 18 new control boards with modern central remote control system will be installed.

The aim of the project is to save energy, decrease costs and make urban environment safer. Thanks to the introduction of more efficient LED lighting technology, annual savings of at least 451 MWh will be achieved which means financial savings of more than 54 100 euros per year by reducing 492 t of CO2 production by mankind.

The works will last 11 months and the final handover of the works to the client will take place in September 2021. Connecto’s project manager is Meelis Meesak.
