Connecto will start building a wind farm in Latvia
AS Connecto Eesti in cooperation with Nordecon Betoon OÜ and Verston Ehitus OÜ concluded the contract with Utilitas AS, the largest renewable energy producer in Estonia, for the construction of a wind farm in Tārgale, Ventspils region, Latvia. The wind farm with 14 wind turbines with the total capacity of 58.8 MW is planned to be completed by autumn 2022. The wind turbines with the tip height of blades being 152 meters are supplied by the wind turbine manufacturer Vestas. The estimated annual production of Tārgale wind farm is 155 GWh, which is enough to meet the annual energy needs of more than 50 thousand households.
In the first stage of the project will be made preparation works for the erection of wind turbines in the wind farm area: construction of roads, foundations, cabling, communications, earthing networks and substations. Wind turbines will be installed in the second phase of the project in 2022.
Connecto’s part covers the construction, testing and energizing of the electrical system of the entire wind farm (including the wind farm grid tests). We will build wind farm connection substation (110kV) with the Latvian main grid (AST), 110/20kV wind farm substation which also includes the warehouse and rest rooms of the wind turbine maintenance team. We also construct the entire cable network between the wind turbines and substation with the total volume of about 60 km of different cables.
