Maintenance and repair of 110-330 kV overhead and cable lines in half of Estonia (the western half).

Design and construction of a double-circuit 330/110 kV overhead line - 85 km long. The volume of the design and construction works included: felling trees along the line’s route, construction of access roads, construction of foundations and erection of 304 line masts. Installation works of overhead line cables: 3x3x402/52 mm2 total 85 km, 2 x OPGW total 85 km, 1 x OPGW total 8,5 km and 3x1x242/39 total 62 km.

Design and construction of a single-circuit 110 kV overhead line - 8 km.

Design and construction of a 110 kV buried cable - 600 m

Replacement of 44 old reinforced concrete masts.

Partial reconstruction of a double-circuit overhead line into a single-circuit; installation of a new fiber optic lightning protection cable.

Replacement of Veskimetsa-Harku mast no. 21 (5 km), Veskimetsa-Kadaka (2 km) and Kadaka-Harku mast no. 21 (3 km) of the 110 kV overhead lines with a cable line.

Installation of 350 m of buried cable in Rõuste and 880 m in Muhu, and the installation of 9.7 km of sea cable in the Suur väin strait, overhead line works on masts and in substations, optical works, geodetics and design works, electrical installation measurements and audit.

Construction of a double-circuit 330 kV overhead line - 9.8 km. The volume of the design and construction works included: felling trees along the line’s route, construction of access roads, construction of foundations and erection of 30 independent line masts. Installation works of overhead line cables: 2x3x3x402/52 mm2 and 2 x OPGW - 9.8 km. In addition, a total of 19 km of OPGW was installed from the branch mast of the new line to the Sindi substation, and fiber optic inserts to the substation were built.

Reconstruction of a single-circuit 110 kV overhead line and a double-circuit 110 kV overhead line in connection with the reconstruction of Tallinn ring road. During the design and construction works, the foundations of four free-standing anchor masts were built and new masts were installed, new overhead cables were assembled in crossing fields of the roads, wires of the existing line and the OPGW were connected to new masts.

High voltage substations

As part of the contract, a new two-section, 110 kilovolt external switchboard with a control, auxiliary and control system will be built on the territory of the existing Järvakandi substation. Two existing overhead lines and two power transformers will be connected to the new switchboard.

As part of the project, a new control building for the substation will also be completed, new roads will be built to service the electrical installation, and a new system will collect and drain rainwater from the substation’s territory. The renovation will be undertaken on a turnkey basis.

Design, construction, overhead lines, relay protection and RTU reconfiguration works. Reconstruction of self-servicing substations, delivery of 330 kV measuring transformers, construction of a 6 kV substation.

Globalstar, an American company, is a mobile satellite services company that provides near-global coverage using low-orbit satellites.

In order to provide high-quality coverage of a larger area in Europe, Globalstar built a land station in Saarde municipality. Three 6-metre antennas that can communicate with satellites and the equipment necessary for their operation will be located in the ground station under construction.

The control building, the foundations for the antennas and the station’s infrastructure, including power supplies for the installed equipment, were built.

As part of the contract, part of the Kiisa 330 kV substation property will be freed of equipment and facilities to make room for the future synchronous compensator, which will be an important part of ensuring the supply security of the Estonian electricity grid after disconnection from the Russian grid.

Necessary preparatory work for connecting the synchronous compensator to the Kiisa substation is being carried out.

A concrete transformer storage site and two transformer bath foundations are being built to complete a total of 14 power transformers. One 20 kV short-circuit current limiting reactor, one 20 kV internal distribution cabinet and 330 kV voltage transformers will be installed, while one duplex 330 kV cell will be dismantled. New relay panels (4 pcs) and a new RTU have been delivered, and all the necessary design, configuration and testing works have been completed.

Design and construction of the Kanepi 110 kV substation, installation and configuration of its equipment.

During the expansion of the substation, a new 330 kV line cell of the substation was built, and the foundation of the power transformer was built with an oil separation system. Relay protection and automation systems, 20 kV reactors and a new 330 kV transformer procured by Elering were installed. As part of the works, the earthing circuit, the lightning protection system, the outdoor lighting system, fence and roads were also built at the substation. The substation’s expansion works were carried out on a turnkey basis, which included design and construction works as well as equipment supply, installation, testing and setup.

In addition to strengthening the electricity connection between Estonia and Latvia, the extension of the Sindi substation increases Elering’s ability to regulate voltage, i.e. to ensure the quality of electricity in the Pärnu region. Two 330 kV overhead lines will be connected to the line bay under construction, one of which will go to the Sopi substation under construction near Tootsi, and the other via Lihula to the Harku substation near Tallinn.

Renovation of the Risti 110 kV substation using the turnkey method.

As part of the contract, the new Jäneda 110/10 kV substation’s building and the foundations of its new 110/10/20 kV transformers were built. The 10 kV equipment of the substation was delivered and installed.

As part of the contract, a 15 kV connection to the new wood fractionation pilot plant was built. 15 kV switchgear, two 15 kV transformers and a 0.4 kV main switchgear were supplied and installed.

As part of the contract, the 110 kV overhead line between the Kadaka and Veskimetsa substations in Tallinn was replaced by a cable line. The 110 kV overhead lines between the Harku and Veskimetsa and the Harku and Kadaka substations were partially replaced with cable lines. The total volume of cables to be installed amounted

to nearly 10 kilometres. Both open and closed methods were used to install the cables. The buried cable was buried in the soil at a depth of 1.5-6 metres along the entire length of the route. After the works were completed, the asphalt covering of the roads and sidewalks was restored, and thousands of square metres of landscaping were established.

The construction of new high-voltage cables improved the security of supply in the districts of Mustamäe and Haabersti and the near vicinity of Tallinn. Since the existing overhead lines were dismantled after the installation of the new cables, the visual impact of the overhead lines on the urban space of Õismäe and Astangu was reduced.

As part of the contract, a 110 kV outdoor switchboard with control, auxiliary and control systems was built in Jäneda. A control building and boxes for Elektrilevi transformers were built at the substation, service roads inside the substation were built and access roads to the substation were partially renovated.

Two line inputs from the Tapa-Aruküla 110 kV overhead line were connected to the new switchboard; for this purpose, two new end masts with iron truss structure were installed near the substation interchange.

Reconstruction of 15 kV and 10 kV distribution equipment and installation of compensation equipment for earth connection currents.

As part of the contract, the Tsirguliina 330 kV substation from 1984 was renovated. The project was carried out using the turnkey method, i.e. the equipment included in the scope of the project was delivered together with the necessary design works; installed, configured and checked; and finally handed over to the customer in an energised state.

We built the new 330 kV substation in Kilingi-Nõmme using the turnkey method, i.e. we completed the necessary design works; delivered, installed and configured the equipment; and handed over the substation to the customer in an energised state. The third 330 kV connection of the Estonian electricity system with Latvia starts from the Kilingi-Nõmme substation, which is an important prerequisite for the separation of the Estonian electricity grid from the Russian electricity system. The Kilingi-Nõmme 330 kV substation is of great importance in strengthening the north-south energy connections and in the integration of the Baltic states with the European energy system.

As part of the contract, a new 110/20 kV substation was built in Kiini village in Viljandimaa. The substation will supply electricity to the Puiatu compressor station, which is part of the Balticconnector project connecting the Estonian and Finnish gas transmission networks. In addition, the reliability of electricity supply in the region increases, as the substation is also used to supply electricity to end consumers.

A 110 kV external switchboard was built at the Kiini substation, a control building was erected and an access road was constructed. In addition, 20 kV switchgear was installed in the building and a transformer foundation with an oil separation system was built. The construction of the substation was carried out using the turnkey method.
