Cornerstone laid for Sopi-Tootsi renewable energy production area

AS Connecto Eesti, in cooperation with Nordecon Betoon OÜ and Verston OÜ, is building the most modern Sopi-Tootsi renewable energy hybrid park in the Baltics, including a wind farm and solar park, for Enefit Green in Pärnu County. The wind farm will have a total of 38 wind turbines with a total capacity of 255 MW. The solar park will have 112 000 double-sided solar panels with a total capacity of 74 MW. According to the construction schedule, the park should start generating electricity at the end of 2024. According to Enefit Green’s projections, the hybrid parkwill provide electricity about one tenth of Estonia’s current energy consumption.

Construction of the wind farm started in early 2023. In the first phase of the project, the wind farm site will be prepared for the erection of the wind turbines: roads, wind turbine assembly platforms and foundations will be built, cable, communication and grounding networks will be installed and substations will be constructed. The wind turbines will be erected in the second phase of the project in 2024.

Connecto will carry out the design, construction, testing and commissioning of the entire wind farm power system. We will install a total of 147 km of cables for the 33 kV electricity and optical communications network. We will construct a 330/33 kV substation with 4×100 MVA 330/33 kV transformers, 4 sections of 33 kV switchgear, a building for control and distribution equipment, meeting and staff rooms with a total area of 475 m2, also a warehouse of 300 m2. In addition, we have signed a construction contract with Elering AS for the upgrade of the Sopi 330kV substation to the wind farm interconnection. The total cost of the electrical works for the project is approximately EUR 33 million.
