At the end of May, SIA Connecto Latvia completed and energized the connection of the solar park „Vārme“ production facility to the high-voltage grid, including two HV substations and a 6km-long high-voltage cable line. The work was commissioned by international renewable energy developer Ignitis Renewable. The scope of the contract was the construction of substations on an open site, including control and management buildings, roads, supply and installation of high-voltage equipment (Power transformers, circuit brakers, measurement transformers), landscaping of the territory, supply and construction and testing of the entire substation control and management system, such as relay protection and SCADA, and other auxiliary systems – water, grounding, sewage, fences.
Delivering the first locally generated green electricity to the grid is a strategically significant milestone for Ignitis Renewables in the Latvian market.
