Connecto builds a new 330kV substation in Lihula

AS Connecto Eesti and Elering AS signed a contract to construct a new 330 kV substation in Lihula. The new 330kV substation next to the existing Lihula 110 kV substation will be completed by the end of 2025. The project will cost around €34 million.

The project includes the design works, the construction of 330kV duplex switchyard, the delivery and installation of two 330/110/20kV 200MVA transformers and one 330kV adjustable shunt reactor to the substation. In addition, 110kV cable connections to the existing 110kV switchyard. The energisation of the first transformer is planned on January 2025 and the final completion of the project by the end of 2025.

It is the first 330kV substation in Western Estonia, which will significantly improve the possibilities for connecting new renewable energy generation capacity in the region.
